Okay, fine. I miss Australia.
When I was in Australia I sat in the sun on this beach and watched a thunderstorm happening out over the water. I’m pretty sure you can see the very spot I was laying around in this video at 1:50.
I just got into Sydney today. I have internet for the first time (I could have had it anytime I wanted, but I just didn’t care enough to work it out). So I figured I’d let you guys know how things are going.
Before this I was in Cairns. I did a day of scuba diving and snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef. It was incredible. I did a day in the rain forest as well. Also amazing. I saw a crocodile swimming down the river near me, and most importantly, didn’t get eaten.
But so far my favorite part of the trip was the beginning. Melbourne. I can’t even begin to tell you how unbelievable it was. With all the places I’ve been, this was the first place that I felt like I would love to live in that isn’t Buffalo. It’s hard to describe exactly what it was that I loved about it. The alleys, the buildings, the people I met, the food, and just the basic feel of the city in general. It all combined into just about a perfect experience. It definitely helped having Jes there to show me around. The first night, powering through the jet lag with her, Tahnee, and a bunch of their friends out in the city was nothing short of brilliant. For real, if I had gone to Melbourne before I got an adult job I might already be living there. And if I ever find myself unemployed and devoid of responsibilities, don’t be surprised if I end up moving to the other side of the planet.

I mean, I’m not technically bound for South Australia, but they don’t have a song called “Victoria, Queensland, and New South Wales”. So, deal with it?
For real though, this happens tomorrow. Tomorrow! There is no way I sleep tonight.
I’ve been really bad about actually writing anything on here lately. It’s been a bit busy with getting ready for my trip on top of normal Thanksgiving stuff going on. On the subject of my trip to the land of convicts and animals that want to (and can) kill you, put simply, I’m fucking pumped for it. I leave in just over two weeks and that time can’t go fast enough.
Also, we had Thanksgiving part 1 with my Ma’s family yesterday. I was full of food and medium wine drunk by 1 in the afternoon. It was brilliant. Everything was hazy and nothing hurt.
