I don’t know how to feel about Bryzgalov being a Flyer. He’s my favorite not-Miller goalie, and now he’s playing for if not my most hated, then definitely one of my top three most hated teams. I’m not sure how I’m going to juggle this one. Because I’m definitely not going to like Philly more. Does that mean I have to like Bryzy less? Fuck. I guess goalies are easier to separate from the rest of the team than other players. Maybe I’ll be alright.

I highly recommend reading this lengthy history of hockey’s greatest achievement instead of following the news on the Vancouver riots. 

I, on the other hand, love hockey. And I have always said that despite some of my gripes about the NHL as an organization, they definitely do trophies right. They are all brilliant.

The long and storied history of the Stanley Cup makes it far and away the most interesting trophy in professional sports, as far as I’m concerned. It’s entertaining to say the least and if you ever get a chance to read some of its more interesting adventures I can guarantee a laugh or two.
